Steve Dekle, Owner
After graduating cum laude from the University of Georgia with a BBA majoring in Risk Management and Insurance, Steve began working at The Insurance Center. This was the business his father had started, and Steve bought the agency after working with his dad for 9 years. The Insurance Center is an Independent Insurance Agency now doing business in Augusta, Atlanta, Columbia, and Greenville. The Insurance Center was selected as Travelers Insurance Company’s Agency of the Year in 2003. Steve has obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor designation, was a participant in Leadership Augusta, he’s a past president of Georgia Carolina Toastmasters, and is a Certified Scuba Diver. Steve began purchasing/investing in single family homes after the real estate market collapsed in 2008, and now owns properties in Augusta, Atlanta, Southern California, and Southern Florida. Steve really enjoys his vacation homes on and near Lake Thurmond in Appling, Georgia, and wants to share and make them available for others to enjoy as well. Being in the insurance business for many years, which Steve calls a “relationship business,” Steve truly enjoys being with his family, friends, and staff.
