At 71,000 acres, it is the third-largest artificial lake east of the Mississippi River and one of the Southeast’s largest and most popular public recreation lakes. According to the GeorgiaWildlife.com your best bet for fish at Clarks Hill are largemouth bass, redear sunfish, crappie, stripers, hybrids and catfish but there are many other types of fish too. This lake sponsors numerous fishing tournaments throughout the year including many national tournaments held in Columbia County’s Wildwood Park sponsored by ESPN Bassmasters, American Bass Anglers, FLW, BFL, and Georgia Bass Federation. Fishing on Clarks Hill Lake is excellent year round and our staff is happy to set plan a guided fishing tour with one of many local fishing guides. They know the secret spots on the lake and the best bait to catch the fish you are hunting.
